Appointments are in the therapist's home, in a comfortable front room office. This therapist has had a career working with a wide range of mental illness issues for individuals and families. I am a step mom learning from this therapist to best cope with a mentally ill step daughter who the state of Illinois declared unable to raise her son and placed him in the custody of her father and me. I always come away from the sessions feeling less overwhelmed with a better sense of how to manage.
When comparing them to others I have visited for the same condition, they are among the best I have seen. They were very sympathetic to my situation, and made me feel cared for. I knew that I could count on them at all times. She went over and above and suggested ideas I hadn't thought of before. She was very accommodating as I have an irregular schedule. I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future.
