Extremely unprofessional! Unfortunately his wife ruins it for everyone! They can't keep staff, treat patients like crap and released HIPPA protected health information online

Dr. Anderson is a great guy but he left town without notice. Leaving hundreds of patients without access to their dental records or notes.

I first went to see doctor Anderson last year, 2018. I was so amazed at his knowledge and expertise.
I am now 65 years of age and have been to many dentist in my lifetime. I must say he is the best dentist I have ever known. I had recently been to another dentist here in town that is well-known and very popular. This dentist told me I had so many problems and it was going to cost thousands of dollars! It was absolutely horrible because I did not feel my teeth were in bad shape.
So I left this dentist and went to see dr. Anderson. I was so amazed at the difference. He told me I should not have to lose any more teeth in my mouth simply by certain procedures that no other dentist had ever told me about.
I have no more trouble with my teeth. It's been almost a year now since I saw doctor Anderson and I am very very happy.
I must say though that doctor Anderson is a different kind of person. He's a little eccentric but funny and he truly knows what he's doing and cares more about the patient than the money.
I really wish all of Durango could know what a great dentist dr. Anderson is.

I visited Dr. Anderson in July 2016. I was impressed with his honesty regarding my treatment. My prior Dentist wanted to do $4500 in work that was not necessary. He explained each step as he worked on my teeth, that was comforting. He had to numb me and it was painless. I was very impressed!

This quack took me on, but sent me to SSeault Ste. Marie for extractions(gingivitis). That went well. He took impressions and got mad and called me a gagger and promptly told me I hate gaggers! Went there after 3 days(didn't even let my gums season) Threw the teeth in my mouth and said see ya! Never wa able to wear them! Please help us!

First things first:
1) I am a former employee, and was fired for nearly breaking an x-ray machine.
2) It's been a long time since I worked there (2006), so I've been removed enough to have perspective on it.

I will say this now: I was extremely unqualified for the tasks I was given when I was hired. Unqualified in every sense of the word: no special training, no dental experience, nothing. And I was assisting with cleanings, extractions, root canals, you name it. Truth is, I should not have been anywhere near a dental office, yet there I was for a summer job. I thought I was going to be there just to file and do paper work.

The dentist himself barely talked to me, and was much more concerned about supporting his hobby (airplanes) than really doing his job as a dentist. His work seemed shoddy and careless, although my eye is untrained so don't take my word for it (although the other reviewers seem to confirm this).

So the main takeaways here:
1) staff may or may not be qualified to be doing the job they are doing. Be aware of that going in.
2) the dentist himself is not friendly. Any small talk he makes is a means to an end, not a sign of legitimate caring.
3) the work quality seems questionable at best, and probably a result of the dentist simply not caring as much about his work as much as he does about airplanes.

There are several far superior options in the Houghton/Hancock area, I can assure you. If your insurance is accepted by those other options, I suggest you go there for caring and peace of mind. If you must come here, then be prepared for the points above.

Worst dentist in UP. Run, don't walk to other dentist. Unprofessional treatment and inadequate dental care--much of it dictated by the receptionist without a dental degree. Rude, unprofessional, impatient and a run down office.

They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. Dr. Anderson is a fast talker, but obviosly knows his stuff. All my questions were answered. The office was very easy to locate. I'll definitely be going back. I didn't have a bad experience.

They ignored my questions and my appointment seemed rushed. Their staff was not friendly at all, I didn't feel welcome there. I feel like my appointment was pointless. None of my questions were answered, nothing was accomplished, and I felt worse when I left. The office was easy enough to find. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed. Well he did a root canal on one of my teeth and Ive had more problems than before i went there. Also when he is working in your mouth he might fight with his staff...NEVER EVER WILL GO TO HIM EVER AGAIN!
