I have to say that this is the worst customer service experiences I have had in a long time. I normally do not take time to write reviews but our experience with Kentuckiana Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates was so excruciatingly awful that I wanted to share our experience and tell anyone considering this place to think twice. The doctors seem to be adequately trained. However, Jill the billing administrator is absolutely horrible. I agree with the other reviewer that she should be terminated immediately. She is rude, unprofessional and totally devoid of integrity
Jill made a mistake when calculating the charge for my daughter's surgery. She is now blaming the insurance company, my wife, me or anyone else but their incompetent office staff. After we paid the $1100 charge we were surprised to receive an additional bill for nearly $700. Due to the fact they had made a mistake they offered us a 15% discount (without us asking for it) which brought their add-on charges down to $580. They missed their charges by nearly 65% - I don’t think so.
I contacted Jill and told her we did not feel responsible for the bill and would have never moved forward with the procedure. I wanted to be fair and offered to settle the account for $250. Jill contacted me less than a week later and said the Doctor understood and agreed to settle the account for $300. I accepted and asked her to send me an updated invoice that I would pay in full ($300) within thirty days. Less than two weeks after we received the updated invoice we sent in our credit card authorization to settle the account. Four days after we sent in our payment we received a letter from a collection company for the full amount (before discount and some additional fees that I couldn’t possibly tell you about. This is unethical at best and possibly criminal.
I unequivocally dispute the charges and will go to the ends of the earth before I pay this shake down. I will not be bullied and expect them to keep their word. Although I am a busy person I will spend time, money and effort to let everyone know of awful experience. Look for more from me on this horrible company – I have just begun to let people know of my experience.
