I broke two teeth during a bicycle accident. My wife called the dentist from the ER room (I had several other injuries) and reached an answering machine (it was after hours). We never received a return call. When we did reach her, I was unable to get any information from her on the phone. She got X-rays, but couldn't give me any rough estimates of cost for any procedure. My second time seeing her, for a more formal evaluation, she couldn't answer my questions regarding crown options (I was asking about the relative durability of crown options she offered). She would tell me that one was "higher quality" but that it wasn't more durable, it wasn't stronger, and that it might not last one hour. She eventually told me that I didn't know what I was talking about, and was asking stupid questions. Even though I had an appointment for a cleaning and evaluation (which she failed to confirm as promised) she ultimately refused me service. Everybody else I've spoken to has been similarly unimpressed with her. Every dentist I've spoken with since has been much more helpful and informative, and their prices have been considerably lower. This despite her warning (when I finally did get prices from her in person) that everywhere else I looked I would find higher prices. Thus far, her prices have been higher than even a cosmetic dentist I looked at, and about $400 per crown higher than a general dentist (Family Dental in Kelseyville).
