Dr Rapkin and the staff at Vitality have provided exceptional service, support and guidance to me on my journey to wellness. His extensive knowledge of Chinese medicine and acupuncture have given me genuine alternatives to pharmaceutical treatments, especially related to pain. He is truly my partner in my health, rather than just a practitioner.

I would never refer any of my family and friends to go here. Rapkin gave me the CREEPS! As other reviewers indicated, I went because of the B-12 shot Groupon and got closed up in a room alone with Rapkin pitching intimidating hard sell! He immediately pitched his HCG program and some five-hundred to seven-hundred calorie diet plan that goes with it. C'MON PEOPLE, ANYBODY who tries to subsist on five-hundred to seven-hundred calories a day is going to lose weight. That doesn't mean it's HEALTHY!! His tone was, "You're a FOOL if you don't see my way." And yes, he pushed real hard as if you were supposed to sign on the dotted line THAT DAY for an HCG program that ran into the thousands of dollars. I managed to walk out of there without anything but a B-12 shot. I have gone back for subsequent B-12 shots BUT, they only have LIMITED HOURS on LIMITED DAYS during which they will ADMINISTER a B-12 shot because there isn't enough staff and Rapkin is too busy administering his expensive treatments on other patients. So, you are kind of a low-class citizen if you come in only for the Groupon B-12 shots. The Groupon is simply to get you in the office...ALONE in a ROOM with Rapkin so he can pressure, intimidate and hard-sell you. In a rapid-fire manner, he makes references to his own cancer experience, shoves books and/or pictures in your face, and emphasizes how HE should KNOW about pain/suffering/survival from his time in the Viet Nam war, etc., etc. The guy is waaaaay over the top and SCARY! I've been told you can get sublingual B-12 tablets at Trader Joe's and it will do you as much good to use those as a B-12 shot. So, go to Trader Joe's and save yourself a high-pressure sales pitch by someone of very questionable ethics. I do indeed believe this guy wants CONTROL over people as well as their MONEY. Creepy.

I purchased a Groupon for the B12 injections for energy, which is meant to go along with the HCG diet program, even though it does not state that with the Groupon. This place is touted as a weight loss center and it is done with HCG-so do your research first! You can lose tons of weight and fat and get healthy with HCG, but you have to have good quality. The good quality costs money and you cannot afford to make mistakes with the strict diet. With that said, for people who are looking for weight loss, if you can do it- then I recommend going there. With regards to my visit... The office is clean and conveniently located. I felt like they had a lot of staff behind desk, and yet waited for a long time as only one lady was helping patients. After filling out the questionnaire, instead of just meeting with the one lady, she brought Dr. Rapkin in to consult with me as she noticed my severe health problems that he works with in addition to weight loss. He talked quite awhile with me and I was not charged for the consult. I believe he feels he can help me and isn't just wanting to take my money. Plainly put, he is a no-nonsence matter of fact guy. He doesn't want to work with anyone who makes excuses or isn't completely motivated to follow a healthy diet in order to get healthy. (He didn't want to hear my excuses or what I have done in the past). He is very confident-as he has the right to be, he cured his own terminal cancer with diet, and that is quite an accomplishment that is real and doable. He is right about diet. He stated that if you aren't putting healthy fuel in, then your body won't function properly and you are just wasting your money with every other treatment. I fully understand where he is coming from. However, if you are a person who needs some empathy or a lot of emotional support, I sure don't see it coming from him. I can see how many people are turned off as we want our doctors and caretakers to be empathetic and warm. Honestly I can't decide whether to go back for treatment or not. I feel that the program and therapies without a doubt will work, but I need emotional support. The decision is whether you are willing to take the journey, spend the money, and make the commitment to yourself...not rely on his kindness and acceptance of your excuses and mistakes with your diet and unhealthy choices. It is a lot of money as any treatment of this kind and quality is. I believe you get what you pay for. And don't expect insurance to cover anything out of the box that doesn't require pharmaceutical drugs. I have many autoimmune issues that ONLY Eastern Med, or energetic, homeopathic therapies have actually helped. It costs money. If you have it-do it! If you have FULL WILL to make a LIFE change, then making an investment is also worth it. If not-don't even go in there, because you will leave upset-without a doubt.

Dr Rapkin is honest and holds people accountable for their own health. Most of us would blame outside forces rather than admit mistakes. Healh is a relationship with your self at which most of us fail. He does not offer a barbaric amputation or magic pill. He is kind and gentle and has helped me immensely.t

I called the office after I had heard Dr. Rapkin on the radio. The radio program mentioned a 12 week weight loss study that Dr. Rapkin was looking for candidates to participate in. During the show they stated there would be a **small** cost to the participants of the program. When I contacted the office they stated there would be a $95.00 consultation fee to see if I "qualified" for the program. Since I am over 70lbs over weight and have several comorbidity issues I was pretty sure I would qualify but was hesitant to spend $95.00 “just to see”. So I declined the appointment. I was then contacted the next day by his office stating that they would waive the $95.00 fee if I wanted to come in for an appointment so I scheduled one.
The office was easy to find and is in a nice location so that is the ONLY reason I am giving this review a 1/2 star. When I entered the building the office staff was assisting other customers so I browsed the supplements and other products that were displayed for sale. To say the price of these items are steep is an understatement. However since I was there I decided to stay and hear about this “study”. After listening to Dr. Rapkin talk about the center etc I quickly knew that this “study” program was false as it is a program he has been offering for a long while. He then showed me the different packages that the center offers --- WOW talk about pricey– at this point I wanted to get up and leave but Dr. Rapkin kept on and kept on stating they could set up monthly payments. He then asked his office staff to send in patients who were already on the program to tell me how happy they were with it. This kind of “sales pitch” was beyond even what I would expect from a used car salesman.
When I said I had to think about it he asked what there was to think about. He said people who have to think about it usually don’t commit to the program—this went on for over an hour when I think he finally realized was not going to sign up that day. He then dismissed me.

People beware of this facility – maybe there are some who can afford thousands and thousands of dollars for a 12 week program but I am not one of them. With the hard sell sales tactics I am sure there would be additional products and services pushed at even more money.
Even if I was able to spend thousands the way I was treated was enough for me to make my decision. NO thank you!

Dr. Arthur Rapkin is rude and obnoxious I came to him because of a Groupon i have purchased for B12 injections. They trie to push other services and products on me and when I declined them Dr Rapkin came in to the office to again try and convince me to sign up for another program. He was demeaning and completely disrespectful. He is completely just out for your money . I had to walk out with out getting the services I came ther for. Avoid this place at all costs....
