I'm a NYer of colour (like most) and I have been shvitzing for many years now. I found the facilities nice, and the heat adequate. Clean everywhere and a nice cigar lounge. I was however rather taken aback at the cold-shoulder politic of the staff. Very one-word answers with begrudging scowls. Not only that, but within five minutes of sitting in the steam room I had the place to myself--every time, no matter how many Ukranians or Latvians were happily conversing when I entered. Not very New York, but very suspiciously Eastern European. Go figure, and be forewarned. They'll still take your money. They just won't say much else.
