On a recommendation from a co-worker, I made an appointment at Advanced Care. My friend stated that Dr. Morrison had always treated him well and that he had been treated by him several times. Unfortunately, Dr. Morrison was off and my appointment was with Dr. Reeder. I was interested in finding a new Chiropractor for myself and my wife, as we both have been having back pain. The staff (i.e. receptionist, assistants) are very nice and helpful, and that's why I'm giving this establishment at least one star. Unfortunately, this was the best part of the visit. Went in with pain in my lower back. Spent half and hour describing my symptoms to both the assistant and then again with the doctor (Dr. Reeder). After the interview, the doctor stands up and says that, unfortunately, we won't be doing any treatment today, but that we'll be doing a few x-rays and that on my next visit, he'll work on me. Apparently, I had used up my allotted time with the interview, and now in order to actually TAKE CARE of the problem I came in with, I'd have to schedule another appointment. I wasn't looking for detailed back surgery, just an alignment.(another visit, more $$ for him) To me, this was absolutely unacceptable, letting a patient walk out in pain in order to force another office visit. That's the equivalent of going to a general practitioner with a sinus infection, and having him interview, take blood tests, etc. and then him telling you to schedule another office visit so he can give you something to make you better. On the drive home you think "What the hell did I go there for?"

Ultimately, I refused the x-rays, walked out of the room, paid my co-pay, GINGERLY climbed into my truck and drove home. I then called another local chiropractor and explained to the receptionist what had just happened to me, and asked if she thought this was acceptable. She was shocked and said that anytime someone comes into her office, they get treated, no matter what. Needless to say, I made an appointment, so I'm hoping it works out for me.

I would add that the recommendation that I had gotten from my co-worker was for Dr. Morrison, who, although I've never met him, is by all accounts a stand up guy. So, I can't say that my experience would be the same if he had been the provider. I can only give this review on my experience with Dr. Reeder. Obviously, hindsight being 20/20, I should have scheduled with Dr. Morrison even if I had to wait a few days.
