I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's by my GP. I personally sought out an endocronologist, and found Dr. Castro through Mary Shomon's About.com website. My very first visit, I was very nervous and somewhat emotional. The nurse was very empathetic and comforting. She has thryroid problems, too. Dr. Castro was very thorough going over my medical history and symptoms, asking questions and answering all mine. He ordered more blood tests because he saw irregularities in my 2 previous tests from my GP's office and just wanted to be sure. After getting the results back, he wanted to put me on Synthroid, but I asked for Armour because I want as natural a protocol as possible. He had no reservations about prescribing Armour for me. He is a little hard to understand, but doesn't hesitate to make himself clear if you ask him to. Very pleased so far!
