After a direct referral from an the Tennessee school for the Blind, I expected someone who cared about special needs kids. Boy was I wrong.
This MD came personally recommended by the Tennessee School for the Blind. They wanted my son to be seen so Dr Anderson would set him up with behavior stabilizing medications. During his initial visit Dr Anderson repeatedly called my son "retarded" and told me that I "better not be sensitive given the facts of his diagnosis, and that there is no realistic hope for improvement". After starting my son on an SSRI we we're told to make a follow up. There was ONE scheduling conflict and his appointment was cancelled by my ex-wife. When I called the office to reschedule they told me nothing was available and for me to call back in 2015. After their nearly three week vacation, I finally got in touch with someone to schedule the appointment. In the middle of getting the appointment made I was hung up on by the staff member. No one called me back and then two days later I was told by my ex-wife that Fox was dismissed. Dr Anderson refused to call me to explain and he simply told my ex wife that he would send 30 days of his medicine and my son would need a new doc in that time. I work in the medical field and am familiar with how doctors are legally supposed to dismiss a patient. Dr Anderson did not follow this protocol but of course he does not really care about his patients, they are just a number to him. Don't believe me? Meet him and see for yourself.

No, They definitely believe in quality over quantity and allow more than enough time in between appointments

Dr. Anderson was very thorough and listened to my questions and frustrations with my son. His staff are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. Their staff is very friendly and professional. I was very satisfied with my visit. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. I definitely would recommend Dr. Willie Anderson without a doubt.
