1 white onion, chopped
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 1/2 pounds pork shoulder roast
1 (16 ounce) jar green salsa
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 serrano peppers, or to taste
Place the chopped onion into the slow cooker.
Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper and place on top of the chopped onion.
Add the green salsa on top of the pork followed by the cilantro and serrano peppers.
Cook on the low setting for 8 hours or until the meat falls apart easily.
Slowly move the pork from the slow cooker to a cutting board and remove half of the remaining liquid. The onions, peppers, and cilantro can be saved or thrown out
Slice the pork shoulder into small strips and mix with the rest of the liquid from the slow cooker to serve.
