1 3/4 cups water
1 cup oats
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup dried cherries
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons cherry jam
1/4 cup 1 percent low-fat milk, plus more to taste
In a medium-sized saucepan, add the oats, cherries, salt, and water.
Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
When boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until desired consistency.
Turn off the heat and remove the saucepan before adding the cherry jam and vanilla extract.
Serve in bowls and add milk to taste.
