Students must be able to demonstrate competence in the anabolism and catabolism of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, antioxidant systems and integration of the endocrine systems. Both a written and practical examination are required for the DCBCN. In order to maintain this certification, chiropractors must complete a minimum of 16 classroom hours of continuing education in nutrition each calendar year.

How can I find the best chiropractic nutritionist in my area?
You can find the best local chiropractic nutritionist on Wellness.com, through other search sites like the ACA and from talking with your primary care doctor, family members and friends. Most of these professionals have websites where you can interact via email to determine whether or not the chiropractor is a good choice for you.

How is a chiropractic nutritionist different from a nutritionist?
