When I was in elementary school, my grandmother had Alzheimer's disease and my parents took care of her for 8 years before she passed, says Dr Sun. My desire to become a cognitive neurologist is also fueled by the hope that one day we will have effective treatments and prevention for dementia. Dr Sun was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, which recognizes physicians who display compassion, respect and empathy in the delivery of patient care.
