Lauren Gormley, O.D. is an optometrist at the Wilmer Eye Institute’s location at Green Spring Station in Lutherville, Maryland. In addition to comprehensive eye care, Dr. Gormley specializes in management of dry eye and ocular surface disease. She has a specific interest in dry eye related to the menopause transition. She is a member of the Ocular Surface disease faculty at Johns Hopkins and has enjoyed an optometric leadership role as the Chair of the Optometry Clinical Excellence Committee from 2022 - 2025. She is actively involved in the Johns Hopkins Women’s Wellness and Healthy Aging Program, a program centered around multidisciplinary care for women in midlife.
Dr. Gormley attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she studied biology. She received a bachelor’s degree and doctorate in optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. She established the Maryland Student Optometric Association at Salus University in 2007 and was the association’s doctor liaison until 2010. She also established the New OD Committee of the Maryland Optometric Association and served as the Chair of the Committee. In 2009, she was honored as the Maryland Optometric Association’s Young Optometrist of the Year.
