Dr. Barillas-Arias earned her medical degree from the Universidad de Costa Rica. She completed her pediatric residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell College of Medicine in New York.
