Dr. Ronadip (Ron) Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
His clinical interests include Endocrine Tumors, such as Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia, adrenal tumors and disorders, pancreatic and neuroendocrine tumors, pituitary, thyroid and parathyroid disorders.
Dr. Banerjee received his B.S. in Biological Sciences with Honors from Stanford University. Afterwards, he completed his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Stanford Hospital and Clinics.
Dr. Banerjee’s laboratory research is focused on pancreatic islets, including the insulin-producing beta-cells, and how they adapt to physiologic stressors such as pregnancy and dietary adaptation. Current projects are focused on how prolactin receptor regulates expansion of beta-cells in pregnancy, and transcriptional regulatory mechanisms controlling islet cell function in pregnancy and the postpartum.
