Dr. Jenna V. Canzoniero is an assistant professor in the Breast and Gynecological Malignancies Group at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. She is a medical oncologist who specializes in treatment of patients with breast cancer.
Dr. Canzoniero earned her medical degree and master's in bioinformatics from University of Michigan. She completed internal medicine residency at University of Maryland and served as Chief Resident. She joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins as an academic Hospitalist before pursuing her passion for oncology. She completed medical oncology fellowship at Johns Hopkins, including serving as Chief Fellow, and then re-joined the faculty as an oncologist.
Her research focuses on expanding the use of molecular diagnostics, including liquid biopsy, to guide the treatment for patients with breast cancer. She is the liquid biopsy leader for the Johns Hopkins Molecular Tumor Board and leads the precision medicine initiative for the Breast and Gyn Malignancies Group. Previous awards include Director's Teaching Award in Clinical Science (2023) and the Marion Wright Award for Scientific Excellence (2024) from the Breast Cancer Research Fund.
