Larry Chang

Dr. Larry Chang is a Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is infectious diseases, with a special focus on HIV. He also holds joint appointments in epidemiology and international health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.Dr. Chang received his medical degree and a master’s in public health from Emory University. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at the University of California-San Francisco and completed his fellowship in infectious diseases at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2009.His primary research interest is HIV implementation science with a focus on how best to implement HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention interventions in resource-constrained settings. He is a PI of the Rakai Health Sciences Program in Uganda. He has also led research on the use of mobile health technologies for improving linkage and engagement in care and prevention services.Dr. Chang is Co-Director of the Center for Community and Global Health in Infectious Diseases (CCGHE-ID) whose mission is to improve health and equity, locally and abroad, through infectious diseases scientific research, training, advocacy, and serviceDr. Chang is a member of the International AIDS Society and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
