Dr. Kleinman is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is pediatric emergency medicine. After receiving his B.S. in Biology from Dickinson College, Dr. Kleinman earned his M.D. and M.A. from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency, chief residency, and fellowship in pediatrics at the Harriet Lane Pediatric Residency Program at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.His research interests are in developing and testing novel applications of digital health technologies with the desire to improve pediatric emergency and critical care. He has a specific interest in the development of extended reality applications and novel uses of artificial intelligence. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.As the Director of Pediatric Emergency Technology for the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Dr. Kleinman leads the effort to improve the implementation, utilization, and efficiency of the electronic health record system, clinical decision support tools, and other available technologies within the Pediatric Emergency Department.
