Dr Rolake Alabi, the oldest of four, grew up in England and New York after her family immigrated from Nigeria. She earned her BS and MS from Yale University in 2010, then completed her MD and PhD at Cornell's Tri-Institutional Program. Drawn to clinical care, surgery, and research, she pursued her ophthalmology residency at UCSF and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Duke. Dr Alabi specializes in surgical and medical retina and is passionate about translational research and community outreach. She speaks conversational Spanish and some Yoruba, helping her connect with diverse patients. Excited to join Austin Retina, she values compassionate, personalized care and aims to empower patients as she would her own family.
