About
A member of Oglala Lakota Sioux Nation raised in the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Dr. Ulmer is a person of varied, distinguished experience, such as working as a forest firefighter for the Bureau of Land Management and as a livestock manager. Dr. Ulmer has also frequently served as a mentor and student health volunteer for underserved and native populations.
Dr. Ulmer’s leisure interests include cattle ranching, team roping, college football and Native American powwows.
Keely Ulmer
Keely Ulmer, M.D., is a Gynecologic Oncologist at the Cancer Care Institute in Rapid City Hospital. In addition to being a Gynecologic Oncology fellow, Dr. Ulmer was also Administrative Chief Resident and a Resident Physician in Obstetrics & Gynecology at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She attained her Medical Doctorate, graduating summa cum laude, from University of South Dakota in Vermillion.
