A Message from Dr James Choi: My decision to pursue medicine started with my own family. Growing up, my parents worked long hours and rarely had time for checkups. I wanted to become a physician so I could help them-and others like them-access the care they deserve. I was drawn to pulmonology because I enjoy the hands-on procedural work, such as bronchoscopies, as well as the fascinating physiology of the lungs. I earned both my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and my Bachelor of Science in Human Biology at Michigan State University. My philosophy of care is simple: everybody is equal, and they all deserve the same amount of care and kindness.
