An experience during his senior year of high school laid the foundation for the future career of Zach DuBois, DO. “I got the opportunity to shadow Doc Abel at his clinic in Wakarusa. He was such an incredible human being, as well as physician, and that interaction really left a mark on me,” he says.
Dr. DuBois is board-certified family medicine physician dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal health through a proactive, personalized approach to care. A native of Elkhart and graduate of Jimtown High School, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame before earning his medical degree from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed his Family Medicine residency training at Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka.
Prior to beginning medical school, Dr. DuBois spent seven years as a touring singer-songwriter, an experience that enriched his understanding of human connection, creativity, and the importance of living a purposeful life. These values now shape his compassionate, whole-person approach to medicine.
Dr. DuBois provides comprehensive care, treating patients across all stages of life – from newborns to older adults. He values the continuity and trust that come with caring for individuals and families across generations. His clinical interests include preventative medicine, cardiometabolic health, early cancer detection, hormone optimization (including TRT and HRT for menopause), musculoskeletal care, and office-based dermatologic procedures.
Outside of medicine, Dr. DuBois enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, hiking, fishing, woodworking, and dreaming about one day owning a small hobby farm. He brings the same passion and balance to his personal life that he encourages in his patients—believing that long-term wellness is rooted in both science and the everyday choices we make.
