Dr. Luo is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Clinically, he shows a keen interest in the full spectrum of complex immune-mediated rheumatic diseases, including those with diagnostic uncertainty, and is dedicated to offering compassionate care to his patients. He serves as a faculty member of the CUIMC/NYP Scleroderma Program. Furthermore, Dr. Luo leads a multidisciplinary rheumatology genetics clinic, aiming to provide molecular diagnoses for patients suspected of having rare monogenic immune disorders. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Dr. Luo graduated from Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China. He completed his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s - Roosevelt Hospital His rheumatology fellowship was conducted at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where he also received a Master of Health Sciences degree through the NIH-Duke Clinical Research Training Program. Dr. Luo has received the Scientist Development Award from the Rheumatology Research Foundation. Dr. Luo’s ongoing research focuses on elucidating the genetic underpinnings of complex autoimmune rheumatic diseases, with a particular emphasis on systemic sclerosis.
