Cherian joined McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston as an assistant professor in July 2021 and is actively involved in clinical patient care and resident/medical student teaching. She was awarded the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024.
She received her medical degree from Coimbatore Medical College in Tamil Nadu, India. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology/metabolism at McGovern Medical School. She is board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
Outside of work, she prioritizes spending quality time with her husband and kids, and her hobbies include gardening and traveling.
