Mary Davis has never strayed too far from northwest Wisconsin. She grew up in Hayward where she developed passions for swimming and running. She earned her undergraduate degree from UW Eau Claire some two hours away. Later, she received her master's degree in nursing from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth and predictably moved back to Hayward to build her medical practice among friends and neighbors.Hayward is such a welcoming community, not only for summer visitors but for lifelong residents like me, she says.
