Dr. Miklos Z. Molnar is a Professor of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation Programs and Living Donor Transplantation Program at the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics and the Director of the Kidney Clinics. Dr. Molnar obtained his M. D. and Ph. D. from Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. He completed his residency and fellowship in Europe then immigrated to USA in 2010. Dr. Molnar completed residency in Internal Medicine and received additional specialized training and faculty experience as a transplant nephrologist at University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN after he completed his North American nephrology fellowship training at University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Molnar is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Molnar is also board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Transplant Medicine in Europe. His primary clinical interests involve all aspects of kidney transplantation including candidate evaluation for recipients and living donors, processes of care around organ procurement and quality assessment, and perioperative as well as long-term care of recipients and their donors. In addition, Dr. Molnar’s clinical interests include the medical evaluation and care of pancreas transplant recipients as well as the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various native kidney diseases and acute kidney injury. Dr. Molnar’s primary research interests involve outcome research in kidney transplant recipients. Dr. Molnar is active in clinical research and frequently gives talks in national and international meetings. Dr. Molnar is a primary, senior author or co-author of more than 300 articles in the field of nephrology and transplant medicine. He serves as an Editorial board member for several journals.
