Sienna Nelson, MD, IBCLC, is a board-certified family medicine physician at Providence Medical Group - Lloyd Center. She has specialized training in obstetrics, newborn care and lactation, and is also interested in reproductive health, LGBTQ health and substance-use issues. “My most important role is to make patients feel welcome and valued,” she says. “When patients feel supported, it opens the door to better communication and more effective care.” A graduate of Tulane University, she earned her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She completed her internship and residency at Oregon Health & Science University, followed by a Salud Rural Maternal Child Health Fellowship. She also speaks Spanish and French.
