Michael Fortson
Michael Fortson, M.D. earned his undergraduate from the University of Georgia and his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine. He went on to complete his family medicine residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Fortson is board certified in family medicine. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Fortson has been in private practice in the metro Atlanta area for over 20 years. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Fortson takes a special interest in preventative medicine and the management of chronic diseases, including the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, and high blood cholesterol. In his spare time, Dr. Fortson enjoys spending time with friends and family. As a native of Georgia, Dr. Fortson enjoys learning about local history, hiking, kayaking, and exploring the beautiful North Georgia mountains.
