Katie Garrett graduated from the School of Midwifery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1993. She was Associate Professor of Clinical Nurse Midwifery for Emory University School of Nurse Midwifery and taught Obstetrics and Pediatrics for Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Prior to practicing midwifery, she worked for several years in labor and delivery, as well as a nurse in neonatal intensive care. Ms. Garrett enjoys gardening and refinishing antique furniture. She is the proud mother of one grown son.
