Originally from Knoxville Tennessee, Dr Sawa McClendon is excited to finally call Chattanooga her home. She attended college at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. She then completed her family medicine residency as Chief resident at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Dr Sawa McClendon enjoys all aspects of family medicine including treating acute illness and chronic disease as well as performing minor office based procedures. She also takes an interest in women’s health and behavioral health. Dr Sawa believes primary care physicians have the unique opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients and their families.
