Modupe Idowu, MD, is a board-certified physician and professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She serves as the medical director of UT Physicians Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center. She has repeatedly earned the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award on a yearly basis and was selected for the Texas Super Doctors – Rising Stars award from 2017-2019. In practice since 2005, Idowu treats adult patients and is fellowship-trained in hematology. She has clinical interests in bone marrow and blood disorders such as sickle cell anemia. Her practice philosophy centers on treating each patient with respect and care at all times. Patients appreciate the dedicated, personalized, and evidence-based care they receive, as well as the fact that they feel welcomed and cared for. A resident of Pearland, Idowu is married and the mother of three children. Her favorite leisure activity is spending time with her family and church activities.
