Dr. Francisco Fuentes is a board certified Physician and Professor at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). Dr. Fuentes is The Theodore & Maureen O’Driscoll-Levy Professor and is Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and Cardiology Fellowship Program, underscoring his excellence as a clinician and educator. Dr. Fuentes is also a recognized health educator in the community, and routinely volunteers at the San Jose Clinic. He received the Herbert L. and Margaret W. DuPont Master Clinical Teaching Award. He was named Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly and Top Doctors for Women—Cardiology by H. Texas Magazine, and was presented with a Special Congressional Recognition by Congressman Al Green in Honor of Outstanding Dedication to Healthcare, Education and Community Service. He also was honored by The American Heart Association for Numerous Contributions to the Field of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Hispanic Community. He received the Benjy F. Brooks M.D. Award from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston for outstanding clinical faculty.
