About
Obstetrics is special because pregnancy and childbirth are among the most memorable and special times in a woman's life. Being there for those times is a real privilege. And gynecology allows me to solve problems. Working in partnership with my patients, there's virtually no concern - be it bleeding, pain, fertility issues, contraception management or anything else - that we can't develop a treatment plan to address.
I take time to listen to every patient's story. That helps me fully understand what's going on and what's most important to them. I like to review all the possible treatment options and allow patients to make an educated decision about what works best for them.
My patients mean a lot to me, and I really like getting to know them as people - their interests, their concerns, their hobbies.
Columbia, South Carolina, is where I grew up, but my family is originally from Cuba. I'm fluent in Spanish, which allows me to communicate readily with Spanish-speaking patients.
I'm a proud member of, the national medical honor society, and an American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) Alpha Omega Alpha diplomate.
I met and married my husband in Charlotte. We have identical twin girls and a sweet, red-headed boy who keep us on the go. When I have free time, I enjoy reading, shopping and traveling.

I'm a first-generation college graduate and the first physician in my family.
