I'm a family medicine doctor who has returned to my hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, after practicing medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. I earned my medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I also completed a master's degree in public health. At the same time, I earned a graduate certificate in LGBTQ health policy and practice from the George Washington University. I completed my family medicine residency and subsequent fellowship in point-of-care ultrasound at the University of Pennsylvania, during which time I also worked as a hospitalist. I routinely integrate point-of-care ultrasound into my practice to bring patients excellent diagnostic care at the bedside. As a family doctor, I see patients from birth to geriatrics. While I care for those with chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, I also specialize in HIV primary care, LGBTQ+ health, gender-affirming hormone therapy and pre-exposure prophylaxis. I also provide compassionate care to patients with addictions, as well. That includes offering suboxone therapy for patients with opiate use disorder. I speak Spanish and enjoy seeing patients whose native language is Spanish.
