Dr. Knopf is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He was trained by some of the top cardiologists in the world, including Dr. Andreas Gruentzig, who performed the first coronary angioplasty. Dr. Knopf has guest lectured all over the world in places such as Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Europe, South America, and throughout the United States. Dr. Knopf served on the faculty at Emory before building practices like The Atlanta Cardiology Group at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Atlanta and the Piedmont Heart Institute at Piedmont Healthcare.

Raised in Atlanta, William “Bill” D. Knopf, M.D., is a cum laude graduate of Emory University School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Knopf completed his internal medicine residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas before returning to Atlanta to complete his cardiology fellowship at Emory Hospital. Dr. Knopf spent time as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory and became their Heart Transplant program’s first Medical Director.Dr. Knopf is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology.
