Dr Laubach received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in 1999. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Hematology Oncology at the same school. He received Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2002 and from the American Board of Medical Oncology in 2008.
In 2008, he joined the staff of Dana-Farber and Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he is a medical oncologist and clinical investigator in the Hematologic Malignancies Center, focusing on multiple myeloma as an area of expertise.
