Dr Kalinowski grew up in Mankato, Minnesota and obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. Prior to medical school in Virginia, he obtained a Master of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Dr Kalinowski was drawn to gastroenterology in medical school and went to the University of Illinois at Chicago - Advocate Christ for residency training, where he was also chief resident. Dr Kalinowski obtained a Master of Business Administration focusing on health care management and integration during residency training. Dr Kalinowski then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he obtained fellowship training in gastroenterology.
