Monica Vetter
Monica H. Vetter, M.D., is a gynecologic oncologist with Norton Cancer Institute. She earned her medical degree from the UofL School of Medicine and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Vetter specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical and vulvar malignancies. She has advanced training in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques, with a strong emphasis on delivering personalized, evidence-based care.
She is deeply committed to advancing treatment options for women facing gynecologic cancers and plays an active role in clinical research and trial development. She is a primary investigator on multiple clinical trials and works closely with Norton Cancer Institute’s research team to increase access to cutting-edge therapies for patients throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Her research interests include chemotherapy resistance in ovarian cancer, surgical outcomes, and disparities in cancer care delivery.
Dr. Vetter believes that exceptional cancer care begins with trust and partnership. She works closely with patients and their families to ensure they feel informed, supported and empowered throughout treatment. Her goal is to not only provide the best treatment possible, but also to treat the whole person with compassion and honesty.
She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Medical Association.
