Dr Megan Heany was born and raised on a farm in a small town in Nebraska. She graduated with honors from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis in Chemistry and Psychology. While at Nebraska Wesleyan, Dr Heany held several leadership positions in campus organizations such as the peer assistance program, the interfraternity council, and the panhellenic council as well as volunteering weekly with her local sorority chapter at community and campus events.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr Heany attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007.
