He attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Fuerst then moved to Norfolk, Virginia, to complete his internal medicine residency and chief resident year at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Following this, he completed his pulmonary and critical care fellowship training at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
In his free time, Dr. Fuerst enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, exploring new restaurants, playing golf and pickleball, and supporting his Houston Astros and Texas Longhorns.
