Mariam Mafee, MD, FAAD, FACMS, is division chief of dermatological surgery and a Mohs micrographic surgeon at RUSH University Medical Center. Dr. Mafee earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her internship at UChicago Medicine at NorthShore University Health System – Evanston. She completed residency training at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in dermatology and subsequently completed a fellowship focused on Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Dr. Mafee works with a highly skilled team of experienced dermatologists who partner with other clinical experts to diagnose, treat, and prevent all types of skin cancer and other skin conditions. The advanced treatment option of Mohs surgery, which has the highest cure rate of any skin cancer procedure, offers patients minimally invasive surgery to treat skin cancer while preserving healthy tissue. Additional areas of interest for Dr. Mafee include laser and cosmetic dermatology including Botox® and Dysport®, as well as chemical peels, scar treatment, cosmetically removing benign skin lesions, split earlobe reconstruction, microneedling, redness/rosacea treatment and laser hair removal.
