Dr. Bagen Sonnanstine is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She gained her sports medicine fellowship in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she worked with LSU and Southern University student-athletes in all sports. Dr. Bagen Sonnanstine was also a team physician for Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Bagen Sonnanstine has given many lectures on sports medicine topics including teaching proper physical exam techniques. She was involved in ongoing concussion research and is a credentialed ImPACT consultant for concussion treatment.
Dr. Bagen Sonnanstine is a member of professional medical organizations like the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. She also serves as gratis faculty for Tulane University School of Medicine.
Dr. Bagen Sonnanstine believes in an individual comprehensive approach to medical management. She enjoys developing relationships that allow her to craft unique treatment plans to get her patients back to their active lifestyles.
In her spare time, Dr. Bagen Sonnanstine enjoys traveling, hiking, golf, scuba diving, yoga and running. She has completed four marathons and a triathlon, as well as a yoga teaching training program.
