Julia Faidleygrew up in Hershey, Pennsylvania, but has called New York City home for thepast 30 years. She was drawn to the idea of birth as a healthy and a normallife transition and decided to pursue becoming a midwife. During those years,she worked as a labor support doula, raised two children, and spent several yearsas a hospice nurse.
