Kathryn Shevchik, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist specializing in obesity, weight management and health behavior change. Dr. Shevchik provides brief evidence-based interventions for food- and eating-related behaviors as well as general stress management and psychological adjustment. She conducts pre-surgical psychological evaluations to determine readiness for bariatric surgery, and provides follow-up care to patients struggling with weight regain or difficulties adjusting after surgery.
Dr. Shevchik received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Behavioral Health from Alliant International University in San Diego, CA. She completed a pre-doctoral and post-doctoral fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital specializing in Behavioral Medicine and Integrated Care.
Dr. Shevchik is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the American Psychological Association, the Society of Health Psychology, and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
