Eric A Vasiliauskas, MD, is an internationally recognized expert in both adult and pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). As director of the Cedars-Sinai Nutrition and Integrative IBD Program, Dr Vasiliauskas has been exploring and examining the influences and role of nutrition, diet manipulations and supplements including herbal products and probiotics on disease activity and specific symptoms in the management of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, microscopic colitis and IBD-associated small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. As a clinician and clinical researcher, he has focused and studied on how to optimize and fine-tune traditional anti-inflammatory,immunomodulatory and biologic therapies.
