I am a psychiatrist at Columbia University whose work encompasses an inpatient practice at New York State Psychiatric Institute, teaching Columbia residents and medical students, an outpatient practice, and research. I received undergraduate degrees from Penn and a law degree from Harvard, and I practiced law in NYC before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. I received both my medical education and residency training at Columbia. I spent one year as an inpatient attending at an Orthodox Jewish unit at NYP Westchester before returning to Columbia. My clinical expertise and interests include affective disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and religion/spirituality and mental health, and my outpatient practice includes medication management and psychotherapy including CBT, DBT, IPT, psychodynamic, and supportive therapies.
