Donald Fletcher
Dr. Fletcher completed his retina and vitreous training at Presbyterian Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. He completed his Low Vision fellowship at Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California. Currently, he serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of Kansas School of Medicine, Low Vision Rehabilitation Committee Member for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Affiliate Scientist at Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in San Francisco, California, and Helen Keller Chair for Research and Education in Low Vision Rehabilitation. Over his distinguished career, he has also been honored numerous times by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In 2006, he was awarded the Meritorious Award for Outstanding Lifetime Contributions to Low Vision, and in 2000 was awarded the Outstanding Contributions in Direct Services to Individuals with Low Vision Award by the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER).
