Ashish Sharma
Dr. Sharma completed his retina and vitreous medical and surgical training at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan. He joined Dr. Walker, Dr. Wing, Dr. Raskauskas, and Dr. Ghuman at Retina Consultants of Southwest Florida in 2008. He has been the principal investigator in dozens of pivotal clinical trials that have led to FDA approval of new therapies to fight retina or vitreous diseases. He has received the honor of Best Doctor and Castle Connolly Top Doctor. He has contributed his time and expertise as a volunteer physician at the Bonita Springs Lions Club Clinic. In 2013, he was awarded the James W. Clower, Jr. MD Community Service Award, presented by the Florida Society of Ophthalmology Foundation. In 2014, he was honored by the Lee County Medical Society with the Health Education Award. He has authored numerous articles and abstracts that have been presented at regional, national, and international conventions and has been published in respected medical journals such as the American Journal of Ophthalmology, the Annals of Ophthalmology, and the Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science Journal.
