He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, Lexington. He then completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. Dr. Sousa realizes that every patient has specific needs and creates a tailored care plan for each individual. A native of Massachusetts, Dr. Sousa now lives in Louisville with his wife and enjoys spending time outdoors in his free time.
